DULOCH Leisure Centre has been upgraded by Visit Scotland and joins Carnegie Leisure Centre as a four-star rated destination.

Following the review of the Dunfermline centre, its facilities and staff, Duloch moved up from its previous three-star grade while Carnegie maintained its four-star rating.

The Visit Scotland award means the centres have met all the necessary high standards in providing a welcoming and clean facility, with efficient staff delivering an excellent customer experience.

Duloch Leisure Centre, managed and operated by Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, saw almost 90,000 customers use the facility for the 12 months up to March 2014, making it the best-attended dryside-only leisure centre in Fife.

The Visit Scotland report praised the centre’s use of green initiatives, in particular the sensor lighting in place in areas such as the changing rooms, smaller toilet cisterns, push showers and taps and the computer-controlled heating system.

James Dunbar, area leisure manager, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said, “The four-star award is a first for the centre and means that Dunfermline is home to both of the trust’s four-star leisure centres out of 13 it manages across Fife.

“We are very proud that Duloch met Visit Scotland’s high standards, recognising the quality of the facilities at the centre, as well as the effort of staff to deliver high standards of customer service. The trust has recognised improving customer experience as a key element of its business strategy going forward so receiving awards which support our efforts is very important.”
