A SPECIAL cut-price rate for all-day parking at Dunfermline’s Kingsgate Centre is available next week.

From Monday to Sunday, February 19, shoppers will be able to park all day at the APCOA multi-storey at the shopping centre for £3.

More good news is that the company is looking at bringing in reduced rates permanently depending on the response to this trial.

Gary Anderson, APCOA manager for the Kingsgate car park, said: “We will be looking at the results with a view to perhaps bringing in a similar level all year round.

“There are complaints made about the tariffs and these are made mostly to the Kingsgate Centre itself. We think around 63 per cent of the car park’s users will pay less during this trial.”

The company thought this would be a good time to try out the £3 charge with the schools on holiday at the end of the week.

There is also a special prize up for offer with items from APCOA, Autopep Valeting, Dunfermline Athletic, Mountain Warehouse, Starbucks, Card Factory, Perfume Shop, Poundland, Marks and Spencer, Holland & Barrett, Thorntons, Body Shop, Bodycare, The Entertainer, Boots and others.

All you have to do to enter the competition is write your name and contact details on your car park receipt and place it the prize draw box.

The promotion coincides with a free pop-up cinema at the Kingsgate Centre for children on Thursday and Friday, featuring recent releases.

On Thursday, there are three screenings of ‘Trolls’ at 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm. Then, on Friday, kids can enjoy ‘The Batman Lego Movie’ with the same screening times. The pop-up cinema will be located in the unit next to Gregg’s and popcorn will be available.
