Police and building inspectors have been spotted at the old Duracord premises this afternoon, partially blocking the road.
The building has been the centre of much talk recently when youths broke in and threw a fire extinguisher through a high level window on to the busy main road.
A community group are also in the process of thinking about taking over the building.
Dunfermline Police Station said they could not make a comment after the Press contacted them.
