House break-ins in Dunfermline last week have sparked concerns from police.
They are urging the public to make sure houses are more secure by leaving a light on in the early evening.
A house on Law Road was targeted some time between 9pm on February 9 and 5pm the following day.
Burglars forced entry into the premises and stole a quantity of property.
Another house on Dover Park was broken into between the hours of 3.30pm and 7pm last Friday, again by forced entry.
Sergeant Thomas Clague said: "In the early evening it is easy to see what houses are empty if lights are not on. Making them a target for criminals. Simply putting lights on timers can solve that."
A garden shed was broken into at the rear of a house in The Glebe, Saline, between 6pm on February 6 and 7.45 am the next morning.
Vandals also smashed the window of the St. Margaret's Cave premises on Chalmers Street 9am on February 2 and 9am February 3.
