RUMOURS that a teacher from Woodmill High School was dismissed for assaulting a pupil have been denied by Fife Council.
A woman whose grandson attends the Dunfermline school had said a male teacher had apparently headbutted a child.
Education officer Peter Wright confirmed an incident did take place in the school yesterday involving a member of staff and a pupil.
He added: “I would stress that nobody was injured in the incident.”
The council said there will be an investigation.
