A McDONALD'S worker became concerned about the state of a customer who came to the drive-thru restaurant covered in blood.

Police were contacted and the female driver was found to be almost three times over the drink-drive limit.

Lisa Ann Cooper appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Cooper, 31, of Pittsburgh Road, Dunfermline, admitted that on March 13 at McDonald’s drive-through restaurant, Duloch Park, she drove with excess alcohol.

Her reading was 62 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said there had apparently been a domestic incident and Cooper had driven to McDonald’s to buy a soft drink.

“The person who was serving saw she appeared to be injured. Her face was covered in blood, as was the dressing gown she was wearing,” Mr Kapadia continued.

The police were contacted by a supervisor and given the registration number. When they went to Cooper’s home they found her still sitting in the car.

“Allegations and counter allegations were made about domestic assaults and both parties seemed to be injured,” added the depute.

Police then carried out drink-drive procedures and the offence came to light.

Sheriff Charles MacNair banned Cooper from driving for 16 months and fined her £400.
