A DUNFERMLINE man caused damage to his partner’s car after an argument turned physical.
The row ended up in both Michael Keith and David Stewart being arrested and appearing from custody separately at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Keith, 33, of Cleish Place, admitted that on March 13 at Targate Road, Dunfermline, he willfully or recklessly damaged property by scratching the paintwork of a 16-plate Vauxhall Viva belonging to his partner, David Stewart.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said: “Mr Keith had been out drinking in Dunfermline with friends. He appears to have fallen and injured himself.
“He required a lift home. Mr Stewart drove there and picked him up. He took him to his home and tended to his injuries.
“There was then an argument and it escalated. Mr Keith was put out of the house.”
He then began to vandalise the car. His partner saw him and banged on the window resulting in Keith running away.
Sheriff Charles MacNair deferred sentence until April 12 to find out a figure for the damage caused.
Also appearing from custody was Stewart, 52, of Targate Road.
He admitted that on March 13, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by struggling with his partner whereby he was struck on the head.
After being arrested, the Tesco worker told police: “It was just handbags at dawn.”
Sheriff MacNair admonished him saying: “It’s only marginal that you did anything wrong at all.”
