A DUNFERMLINE man caused £575 worth of damage to his partner’s car after an argument.

The row ended up in both Michael Keith and David Stewart being arrested.

Mr Stewart was previously admonished for what he described as “handbags at dawn”.

However, Keith had to return to Dunfermline Sheriff Court after inquiries had been made into the cost of the repairs.

The 33-year-old, of Cleish Place, admitted that on March 13 at Targate Road in Dunfermline, he wilfully or recklessly damaged property by scratching the paintwork of the car belonging to his partner.

Depute fiscal Claire Bremner said: “At the time they were in a relationship and had been for two years.

“The accused had been out drinking in Dunfermline town centre. He phoned Mr Stewart and asked him to pick him up in his car, as he had fallen over and was injured.

“Mr Stewart went and picked him up then took him back home and tried to help with his injuries.

“They began to argue and the accused was asked to leave.”

However, he stayed there and after going to bed he was angered when Keith came into the bedroom.

“Mr Stewart tried to pull him out of the bed, which he did and then he threw him out. The accused took a stone and vandalised his partner’s car.”

Sheriff Chris Shead ordered Keith to pay £575 compensation and admonished him for the offence.
