DUNFERMLINE will take centre stage next month when BBC Breakfast broadcasts live from the town.

The nation's favourite morning TV show has been touring round the country in the run-up to the General Election and will give West Fife a staring role on June 2 as it broadcasts to an estimated six million people.

BBC regular and Strictly star Naga Munchetty will be meeting local community leaders, while presenter Ben Thompson will be talking to business representatives in the area from his special breakfast 'Butty Van'. Who's up for a free sarnie?

Even weatherman Matt Taylor will also be heading up north to give live bulletins from 6-9am. Let's just hope it's sunny!

BBC Breakfast is hoping to park up outside the Glen Gates, weather permitted, or if you don't catch them there then you could find them at the Seven Kings or Carnegie Hall.

Visit Dunfermline has been behind this move with director Thomas Moffat in talks with producers for the last few weeks.

He said: "I've been sending them photos of Dunfermline and telling them about all the good things we've got going on up here.

"They came up to visit on Monday and if all goes to plan they're going to broadcast from the Glen Gates.

"Unfortunately, the new museum didn't fit their requirements to shoot if it's a rainy day but they think Carnegie Hall would be brilliant with its backdrop of the bridges in the background."
