A FOOD and crafts weekend organised by Dunfermline Delivers and the Kingsgate Shopping Centre has benefited Dunfermline Foodbank to the tune of £1,050.

The Dunfermline Food and Crafts weekend took place on April 29-30 and had around 40 stalls showcasing the best in local produce and crafts.

Highlights included ‘Cooking with Khushi’s’, which allowed visitors to be shown around the restaurant’s kitchen and how meals are made, kids’ pizza-making at Dine at 29, workshops at Sew Yarn Craft and tours of The Canmore Bar and Brewery.

The event managed to raise the four-figure sum for the foodbank and Kingsgate assistant manager Karen Davidson presented a cheque to foodbank manager Jonathan Astill last week.

Earlier this month, the Press reported that more than 4,500 emergency food supplies were issued to West Fifers by the foodbank in the last 12 months.

Jonathan commented: “It really is only with the community’s support that we’re able to provide vital emergency help when it matters most and we hope that one day, there will be no need for us in West Fife.

“But until that day comes, we will continue to offer the best possible service to help local people facing a crisis.

“Thank you so much to everyone in West Fife who already donates time, food and money to help local people”
