DUNFERMLINE engineering workers are on the right track to raise £1,800 for charity in memory of their former boss.

Process Plus lost their managing director, Tom Macfadyen, 51, after a brave fight to bone cancer in December and are now taking on the Edinburgh Night Ride to fundraise for Beatson Cancer Charity.

The charity supported Tom and his family through his battle and a team of eight are determined to peddle their way to £1,800, a total they achieved at the start of the year through an 'in memory' donation page.

Kerry Myers is one member of the Process Plus Nightriders team, and she hopes to break the target on Saturday, June 17, with a 50-mile cycle through the capital's streets under moonlight.

She said: "The charity helped Tom and and his family through a very difficult time.

"He was a remarkable man and he was a true gentleman. He is a huge loss to all of us. We had to get back in touch with the charity again as we wanted to continue raising money for them. They did so much for Tom and his family.

"I'm the only female on the team! Training has been going well but the recent heat has made it quite tough."

Kerry added: "The whole team is getting there, although one of the team had to pull out due to a broken ankle. The things people will do to get out of a bike ride!"
