POLICE in Dunfermline have arrested and charged at 39 year-old man for the theft of a charity box from Queen Margaret Hospital.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind box was stolen at some point between 7.45pm and 8.45pm on Monday (June 5).

The charity box was in the shape of a golden Labrador guide dog with a smaller dog beside it. It is not known how much money was inside.

Police made a public appeal a week ago to try and trace the person that was responsible.
