A POWER cut has closed a number of shops in Dunfermline High Street, with the post office one of the properties affected.

WH Smith, where the post office is now situated, is shut while Greggs and Mountain Warehouse have also closed their doors.

A spokesperson from Scottish Power said: “Our engineers are working to repair an underground cable fault which is affecting power supply to parts of the town centre.

"Supplies will remain off for a short period to allow this work to be done safely and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
