The mother of missing Corrie McKeague has praised the work of all those who have searched for her son by sharing a treasured photo.

Nicola Urquhart took to social media to thank all those who have supported her family by posting a photo of herself and her son the night before he joined the RAF.

The Dunfermline mother said officers had continued to face another week of searching a landfill site in challenging conditions as they enter the 40th week anxiously waiting for news since Corrie's disappearance.

Nicola Urquhart wrote on the 'Find Corrie' page: "Suffolk Police have my complete trust. After a week of unbearable heat for those working outside they have now spent a week in atrocious conditions with officers having to wade through a meter of water, they have faced problems but have managed to overcome them and continue searching for Corrie.

"The rubbish the police are finding is still from exactly the time period they are searching for, so as I said last week, Corrie could be found at anytime but equally it could still be weeks until the landfill search is completed, but I truly believe that if Corrie is in the landfill Suffolk police will find him.

"We face another week of waiting for "that call" but we will get through this week just like the last 40."

Corrie, 23, from Dunfermline, went missing after a night out in Bury St Edmunds on September 24 last year. Police believe that he could have been taken away from the area that he was last seen in a bin lorry and are subsequently searching the landfill site where that waste was deposited.

Nicola Urquhart also spoke of her pride in her son remembering the night friends and family celebrated his achievement of joining the RAF.
"This photo was taken for us, looking at it now reminds me of how it filled me with pride", she wrote.

"It was the night before Corrie left to start his career in the RAF. Corrie's family and friends spent the night together having such a good time. Talking about how proud we were of him and all the things he could achieve.

"We spoke of fears too but never in my lifetime did I or any of us close to him there that night did we ever imagine we would be here today. Yet we are!

"It's difficult but we are coping. We are coping because of the amazing support we have, not only in each other and our family but our friends."

Corrie's family welcomed the arrival of his daughter Ellie-Louise last month. His girlfriend April Oliver, 21, announced her pregnancy four months after he disappeared.

Nicola also shared her joy in being a grandmother to the most "beautiful granddaughter in the world". "It breaks my heart but fills it with joy at the same time," she added.
