FIRE services rushed to a street in Dunfermline after a car was deliberately set on fire on Monday.

Police are now looking for witnesses to the incident which happened around 1.00am on Izatt Avenue.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire in the Ford Ka.

No one was injured.

Officers are now eager to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area.

John Easton, Detective Sergeant of Dunfermline CID, said: "We are investigating this wilful fire-raising which was quickly dealt with by the Fire Service and no-one was injured.

"However it was reckless behaviour that we will not tolerate in our communities.

"Anyone with information about this incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 0135 of 31st July."
