TO say that Fire Station Creative are looking forward to their latest exhibition opening has never been more fitting.

Sadia Gul Ibrahim, a Glasgow-based artist, is poised to showcase her latest work in Dunfermline.

The solo exhibition, 'Anticipation', focuses on the inherent intrigue she finds in doorways and windows.

She said: "I have always been drawn to doors set within the facade of ancient palaces and mosques in the Middle East and South Asia.

"I'm very pleased to be showing in Dunfermline. This is a great opportunity for my work to be seen by a wider audience.

"The setting of the old fire station is fabulous but informal. I like the fact that someone who might not normally attend galleries could just pop in for a coffee and get to see my work."

Sadia trained in Islamabad, Pakistan, specialising in wood carving and Islamic calligraphy.

After she emigrated to Scotland, she continued to work as a professional artist but then put her career on hold to raise a family.

Now that her youngest child is going to school, she has returned to her studio with great passion.

Ian Moir, gallery curator, said: "I've known Sadia for a long time.

"Her work is extremely unusual and every piece is beautifully crafted.

"It has a rare spirited quality that is hard to find nowadays. This will be a unique experience for our visitors, one that I strongly recommend."

The exhibition runs from August 4 to September 3.

Entry is free.

The gallery is closed on a Monday and Tuesday.
