A TEENAGER who set fire to a bin and a shelter at a Dunfermline primary school was placed on a structured deferred sentence this week.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court last Wednesday after earlier admitting that on February 29 last year at Pittencrieff Primary, he, while acting with another, wilfully set fire to a bin and shelter, causing damage to them.

The court heard that smoke damage was caused to the shelter and the cost of repair was £300.

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed him on the structured deferred sentence and he will now reappear in the dock on November 15.
