A ROSYTH man who made sexual demands to a woman at Dunfermline Bus Station was this week ordered to pay compensation to his victim.

Andrew Bain, 53, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday after earlier admitting that on December 10 last year, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and placed a woman in a state of fear and alarm by repeatedly uttering sexual demands to her and placing his hand on her arm.

Defence solicitor Chris Sneddon said his client, of Boyle Drive, was a first offender who had made a "stupid" mistake.

"Alcohol has played a part in this offending," he told the court. "There is no underlying disorder. He is a man who has made a mistake after many years of law abiding."

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Bain on a community payback order with a supervision requirement for 12 months and ordered him to pay £500 compensation.

"Given the circumstances, there seems to be no underlying disorder so I am not going to place you on the sex offenders' register," he told him.
