THE trial of a bus driver accused of seriously injuring a Dunfermline schoolboy in a road accident will take place in February.
John Morrison, 59, of Marmion Drive, Glenrothes, has appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court at an intermediate diet.
A boy, then aged 13, sustained life-changing injuries in the incident and another boy, aged 12, was also hurt.
It is alleged that on February 28, in Allan Crescent, Dunfermline, Morrison caused serious injury to the 13-year-old boy by driving a vehicle dangerously, failing to maintain proper observations of the roadway around him and struck both boys, also causing injury to the younger boy. He denies the charge.
The diet had been continued for a week to allow talks between defence solicitors and the Crown in a bid to resolve the matter but that was not successful.
As a result, the defence asked for an adjournment to allow further inquiries and this was granted.
The trial will take place on February 1 with an intermediate diet on January 18.
