A KITTEN that was kicked by youths in Dunfermline's Rex Park is looking for its owner.

Cats Protection have been caring for 'Max' ever since he was saved by a lady who saw the sadistic behaviour of a group of teens on November 10.

The organisation is now appealing for 'Max's owner to come forward before he is sent to a new owner on December 1.

Fiona Blackwood, from West Fife Cat Protection, said: "We are desperately looking for his owner before we have to rehome him.

"We have paid for his treatment and he has no obvious injuries, thankfully.

"We have a home ready for him with a gentleman in Perth if we don't have any luck but we need to do everything we can to see if he has an owner first."

Max is all black apart from four white hairs on his chest and is thought to be around six-months-old.

"It was an older woman who ran up to rescue Max and he stayed for the night with her," Fiona explained.

"She was then told by a neighbour to get in touch with ourselves.

"The SSPCA are making enquiries but I don't think anyone is going to know who these people were when it was a dark night.

"My main concern though is that we can try and find the owner.

"We have been inundated with calls for adopting him and he's very cute and friendly."
