A MAN who assaulted a woman in Kingseat was told that if it was proven that he had fractured her jaw he would be facing a prison sentence.
Sheriff Craig McSherry gave the warning to Robert Muir, 24, when he appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Muir previously admitted that on June 25 at an address in Kingseat, he assaulted a woman and punched her on the face to her injury.
The court heard that the blow had caused the victim bruising.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said she had suffered a fractured jaw but the hospital had not yet provided proof of her medical records to the court.
Mr Kapadia added that he had video evidence of the punch.
Sheriff McSherry said he would delay sentencing until the medical report was available and would watch the video then.
"Mr Muir will be facing a prison sentence if it is proved that he fractured the complainer's jaw," he said.
Muir will appear again on December 20.
