A DUNFERMLINE man has admitted a sickening catalogue of domestic abuse over several years.

Josh King repeatedly attacked one partner when she was pregnant. This included punching, kicking, standing on her, dragging her down the street by the hair and throwing her down stairs.

King, 22, formerly of Islay Road, is currently in jail for another assault offence on a 13-year-old boy.

He appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to admit carrying out a series of violent assaults on two former partners.

On August 24, 2012, at an address in Dunfermline, he assaulted his partner, then pregnant, while she was wearing a sheet, seized her by the wrists, pulled her out of the front door, dragged her by the wrists, causing the sheet to fall off, dragged her by the hair and repeatedly slapped her on the head and body.

On an occasion between June 1, 2012, and March 30, 2013, at Rex Park and an address in Dunfermline, he assaulted his partner, then pregnant, repeatedly seized and dragged her by the hair, repeatedly pushed her, causing her to fall to the ground, repeatedly stood on her body and walked over her, seized her by the hair, pulled her to her feet then threw her back to the ground, repeatedly punched and kicked her, pushed her partially over metal railings and threatened to throw her over them.

On an occasion between June 1, 2012, and March 3, 2013, at McClelland Crescent, Dunfermline, he assaulted his partner, then pregnant, repeatedly seized her by the throat, threw her down a flight of stairs, shouted at her and pinned her against a wall by the throat.

On May 10, 2013, at Jokers, Hospital Hill, Dunfermline, he assaulted his partner by pushing her on the body, causing her to fall, punched her on the face, seized her by the hair, pulled her out of a taxi and repeatedly punched her on the head and body.

On an occasion between September 1, 2016, and February 28, 2017, at an address in Dunfermline, he assaulted a different partner, seized and pulled her by the clothing and struck her to the head to her injury.

Depute fiscal Sarah Lumsden said King was in a relationship with the first complainer for around 18 months from the end of 2011.

In August 2012, she was two months pregnant and was at home applying fake tan when King arrived there drunk.

She answered the door with a sheet wrapped around her. He grabbed her and pulled her out of the house and along the street, witnessed by neighbours who called the police.

King continued to drag her by the hair and the sheet around fell off.

The next incident occurred following a party in Dunfermline.

As they walked home, the woman was attacked viciously by King, who threw her phone away.

The woman was concerned for her unborn child saying: “Think about the baby”. King responded by grabbing her hair, throwing her to the ground, then dragged her by the hair, pushed her on to railings and threatened to push her over them.

On another occasion when she was still pregnant, King threw her down a flight of stairs and she was so terrified that she barricaded herself in a bedroom.

King also pulled her out of a taxi and punched her in the face after she had attended her friend’s party at Jokers pub.

The second victim had her nose burst when King struck her in the face.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “There is a background here of mental health issues.”

Sheriff Charles MacNair called for reports and King will be sentenced on February 27.

King is currently behind bars having been jailed last year for 28 months for a vicious street assault on schoolboy.
