A DUNFERMLINE woman who stole hair extensions from a salon and also produced cannabis in her home has been jailed.

Kathleen McCarroll, 44, of Law Road, had originally been sentenced to a community payback order with unpaid work and also a restriction of liberty order but breached both.

She returned to Dunfermline Sheriff Court to be sentenced again for the offences.

On October 10, 2016 at the shop premises of Sally Salon Services, Hospital Hill, Dunfermline, she stole two packs of hair extensions.

On November 4, 2016 at her home she produced a controlled drug, cannabis.

Having breached her court orders, defence agent Roshni Joshi said her client realised she was now facing a custodial sentence.

“She has had an extremely chaotic lifestyle and has a long-standing history of drug misuse. She is a prolific offender and I can’t take away from that,” added the solicitor.

The court was told the stolen goods were valued at £126 and they were not recovered.

Sheriff Craig McSherry jailed McCarroll for six months.
