YOUNGSTERS at Pitcorthie Playgroup in Dunfermline have been putting the adults to shame with their tech savvy.

The playgroup received a £200 cheque from staff at the Asda St Leonards store on Monday as part of their Green Token Giving scheme.

The money has helped fund a brand new touch-screen computer packed full of apps and games to help the kids with their hand-eye coordination, numeracy skills and nursery rhymes.

Susan Paterson, the playgroup administrator, told the Press: “These grants are always a huge help.

“We were able to buy new construction toys, like Meccano, as well as the new computer.

“The kids are like bees round a honey pot with it.

“It’s just fantastic and a huge improvement on the last one, which took 20 minutes to load alone; it was just so slow.

“It’s made a massive difference and they all love it.

“They’re putting us to shame!”

Asda’s Green Token Giving scheme aims to give back to local organisations, with tokens given out and votes cast in-store by members of the public.

Every year more than £1.2 million is handed out to over 5,000 charities and good causes throughout the UK.
