FORMER pop singer and West End musical star Jason Donovan is coming to Dunfermline.

But it's off with the dreamcoat and on with the cardigan as the Australian actor's billed the show as "his amazing midlife crisis tour".

He'll be on the Carnegie Hall stage on Wednesday, September 12 from 7.30pm.

At aged 49½ and with a wealth of tantalising tales under his belt, this autobiographical show will take Jason’s looming 50th birthday as its starting point and will zigzag back and forth through his life.

Delighted to be on the road again, this time he's promising a "tour with a twist" as he's heading to new locations across the country and these intimate gigs will be a unique opportunity to see him like you’ve never seen him before!

A TV star in the 1980s, Jason shot to fame on Neighbours alongside screen wife Kylie Minogue before launching his singing career and joining her on top of the charts with a string of hits.

He dated the pop queen in real life, appeared in films and took to the stage as the lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, topping the charts again with smash hit Any Dream Will Do.

There have been a few low points, with legal battles and drug problems, but fatherhood changed him and he's bounced back with more roles on screen and stage, including The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sweeney Todd and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

He came third in ITV's I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! in 2006 and third in Strictly Come Dancing in 2011.

Jason resumed his singing career, with five albums now under his belt, and went back on the road with a greatest hits tour in 2016.

He has also been presenting an '80s show on Heart Radio.

His latest tour, he's appearing across the UK from March to October, will include some new stories (and possibly one or two you’ve heard before) plus some acoustic versions of the songs you know and love for a night like no other!

Tickets cost £25 and are available from the box office on 01383 602302.
