A car plunged into the Olive Tree Italian restaurant at Hospital Hill on Saturday afternoon.
Police say they are investigating as they try to establish the full circumstances of the incident that saw the X5 BMW's front bonnet completely cave in off the smash.
The traffic lights at the junction were also off that afternoon but police say the two are unrelated.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Fife responded to Hospital Hill, Dunfermline at around 1.50pm on Saturday 26th May following reports of a car colliding with a building.
"No one was injured during this incident and inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances."
