A DUNFERMLINE motorist who was more than five times over the limit said it was because he had been drinking the night before.
Kevin Robertson, 46, of Whinhill, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on Wednesday in Woodmill Road, he drove having consumed excess alcohol. His reading was 115 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of alcohol, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.
Robertson said from the dock: “It was from the night before.”
Defence solicitor Chris Sneddon told the court his client had no previous convictions. “He tells me he doesn’t have a particular problem with alcohol,” he added.
Depute fiscal Jennifer Graham said the Crown would be moving for forfeiture of the vehicle.
Sheriff Alison McKay told Robertson: “Your reading was a high one.” She called for reports and imposed a temporary driving ban until sentencing on June 27.
She also made it a bail condition that Robertson does not dispose of the vehicle before sentencing when the issue of forfeiture will be addressed.
