A CAMPAIGN aimed at raising awareness of sepsis is being launched in Dunfermline today (Thursday).
Rosyth student Emma Straker (19, pictured) died from the illness after feeling unwell on a night out with friends six weeks after being struck down by a throat infection.
Her friends and family have put together a #kissgoodbyetosepsis project which begins with a series of events at Dobbies in Dunfermline, starting at 11am.
They will also host a “red lips” zumba class at 7.30pm at Parkgate Community Centre in Rosyth, with people encouraged to take red lipstick selfies and post them on Twitter to raise awareness of the condition.
Sepsis is one of the UK’s biggest killers, claiming the lives of 37,000 Brits every year.
