BRITISH Military Fitness (BMF) have teamed up with Change4Life and ukactive to offer free family sessions in Pittencrieff Park.

As part of the ‘Get Going’ campaign, BMF are encouraging families to get out and be active in the great outdoors during this fantastic summer of sport.

The population of Dunfermline, both adults and children alike, has been fixated on outdoor sport over the summer months. With the World Cup kicking off in June, followed by Wimbledon and the Tour De France, and the Commonwealth Games just around the corner, there has never been a better time to join in the fitness fever.

British Military Fitness is offering a free one-hour family class on Saturday at 10am, and all you need to do is turn up 15 minutes before at the meeting point in a good pair of trainers.

BMF’s family class is a great way for families to spend quality time together getting active outdoors at the start of the summer holidays. With the encouragement of a highly-trained instructor, your family and friends will exercise in pairs, groups and teams, climbing over, crawling under and running around each other from the first to the last minute.

Rob Love, managing director of British Military Fitness, said, “What a summer of sport we have had. The summertime is truly a fantastic time to get active outdoors. We want to encourage everyone to keep the fitness fever going by offering a free family class to the city of Dunfermline.

“We appreciate that during the summer holidays, making the most of family time is extremely important, so a free BMF class is a great way to maximise quality family time by keeping fit, and most of all, having fun! Get Going is a great campaign to be involved in, and a great opportunity for everyone to come together and enjoy the beautiful parks that the city has to offer.” The class takes place during Love Parks Week (25th July – 3rd August), an initiative to raise awareness of the importance of parks and green spaces.

‘Get Going’ is a joint initiative through Change4life and ukactive. The campaign is designed to help adults and families find fun and active things to do over the summer months.
