THE funeral of Jo Freeman, creator of the popular ‘Dunfermline Photos’ Facebook page, will be held today (Thursday).

Tributes have poured in for the popular Rosyth photographer, physiotherapist and Pilates instructor since the Press broke the sad news of her death last Tuesday.

Jo (54), a director at Visit Dunfermline, died more than two years after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012.

Messages of condolences have been posted on the Press’ website and Facebook page, as well as on Dunfermline Photos and Jo’s personal Facebook sites.

Ian Millar wrote, “Very sad news. RIP – your photos are a fitting legacy”, while Claire Howie wrote, “One of the most upbeat, smiley and full of fun ladies I have worked with. RIP Jo. Thinking of your family xxx”.

Helen Ritchie posted, “This is so sad. Many people will remember Jo for all the work with Dunfermline Photos and Visit Dunfermline Facebook pages for which she did a tremendous job with so much commitment and dedication.” Jeff Bernstein called Jo “an inspiration to many”, adding, “A great heart and a genuinely wonderful warm human being. The world has become a poorer place without you.” Ann Johnston said, “Thanks to Jo I have met up with some wonderful friends through her Dunfermline Photos page. My sincere condolences go to her family and friends x.” Jo’s funeral will be held at 1.30pm at the Glen Pavilion and thereafter to Douglas Bank Cemetery.
