AFTER two months of disruption on Dunfermline’s Bothwell Street due to a damaged sewer it looks like drivers will not be affected by barriers and cones any longer.
The problem arose in November and Scottish Water told the Press last month that the work would take a couple of weeks but investigations have carried on well into the new year.
The road should be back to normal tomorrow (Friday) and a spokesman said, “The sewer has been repaired and there is concrete being poured today (Monday) as a base for the road surface.
“It is planned that the tarmac for the top of the road surface will be put in place on Wednesday.
“The large quantities of concrete and tarmac require a long curing time to ensure the road surface meets specification.
“The road will be inspected to ensure it meets specifications and it is planned that the works will be removed and road returned to normal use on Friday.
“We want to apologise to road users and local people for the time taken to complete this work. This was due to complex underground investigation and repair work.”
