ONE of Dunfermline's best known hotels has been sold after seven months on the market.
The Davaar House Hotel and Restaurant in Grieve Street was put up for sale in July with offers sought of around £525,000.
The ten-bedroom family-run hotel, which features a bar area and a separate three-bedroom house, has been bought by local couple Annie Cotterell-Wilkie and Russell Wilkie in their first venture into the leisure trade.
The Victorian detached stone-built villa had been owned and operated by Jim and Doreen Jarvis for more than 24 years but they have now retired from the trade.
Alistair Letham, a director with selling agent Colliers International, said, "Davaar House Hotel is a delightful property and business, and represents an excellent opportunity for Annie Cotterell-Wilkie and Russell Wilkie to further develop its potential."
