They’re launching a unique publication called ‘A Dunfermline Song Book’ which brings together a collection of 70 songs that relate to life in the town.

Chairman Gifford Lind said, “This book will serve as a wonderful resource for singers and songwriters who are looking to Dunfermline for inspiration, and for anyone interested in the things that have been part of life in the Auld Grey Toun.

“It’s an amazing archive which includes traditional songs, songs from local folk legends such as John Watt, songs created by children from local schools and many others. If you have any interest in Dunfermline, this book will let you find a song and sing about it. Come along this Saturday. You won’t be disappointed!” Visitors will be treated to an entertaining evening of live music, songs and stories in the Long Gallery and all money from ticket sales will be donated directly to Abbot House.

Abbot House’s operations supervisor, Charlotte Johnson, said, “We’ll add to the fun by serving our cask ales which have been specially brewed for this event.

“Following on from the huge success of our birthday bash, we’re very grateful for this support and are looking forward to yet another great night.” Copies of ‘A Dunfermline Song Book’ will be available at the event. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought at Abbot House in advance.
