Daniel Liam Ross (26) appeared in private on petition at Dunfermline Sheriff Court this morning and made no plea or declaration to the charges of murder and assaulting a police officer. The case was continued for further examination and he is expected to appear again within the next eight days.
Officers were called to the Abbeyview address at around 8.30pm last Thursday following the discovery of the body of 28-year-old Gavin Ross in a flat close to the estate's library, where forensic officers in white suits were working at the scene throughout the morning last Friday.
The family paid tribute to Gavin on Monday and issued a statement which said, “Gavin was a much loved son, father, brother and nephew and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
“We are still in shock with the loss of Gavin and we respectively ask to be left alone to grieve in private at this very difficult and sad time.”
