Police in Fife are appealing for information to help identify the occupants of a vehicle seen on Hill Street, Inverkeithing around 10pm on Saturday.

The occupants of the red-coloured Ford Fiesta were reported to be acting suspiciously on or near to the bridge that spans the M90 motorway.

The vehicle stopped and the occupants engaged pedestrians in conversation before it drove off towards Rosyth.

The male driver of the vehicle is described as having dark hair and sideburns. He is possibly of Eastern European origins.

The passenger was a white male with short brown hair.

Officers are now keen to hear from anyone with information that can assist them with their inquiries.

Detective Sergeant Kelly McEwan said: “This may turn out to be an entirely harmless incident but we are keen to establish exactly what happened.

“We are asking anyone who recalls seeing such a vehicle in this area to contact us. Also if the driver or passenger sees this, we would ask them too to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
