POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a hate crime in which a man racially abused a bus driver at Ferrytoll park and ride.

The incident occurred about a month ago, on March 29, at 7.25pm.

The man was waiting for a bus and verbally abused the 34-year-old bus driver who had pulled into the park and ride facility. The incident was reported a fortnight later.

The suspect is described as middle-aged, of heavy build, and with fair/blonde receding hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured fleece and jogging bottoms.

Sergeant Katie Blackwell of Dalgety Bay said: “Tackling hate crime is a priority for Police Scotland. No one should be victimised because of who they are or who they are perceived to be.

“Since this incident was reported to us on April 13, we’ve been conducting various enquiries in an effort to trace the perpetrator and we’re now appealing for the public’s help.

“If you witnessed this incident, or recognise the description of the suspect, please get in touch as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
