SCOTTISH Water is to resume sewer network improvement work in Inverkeithing next Tuesday (November 29).

Contractors Kier/EEG are to complete the work of removing foul sewer connections from the surface water sewer in Spencerfield Road.

This work was started earlier in the year however it had to be postponed when an uncharted gas main was discovered.

During the essential project, which starts on November 29, there will be a road closure between 37-45 Spencerfield Road.

Local diversions will be in place and there may be some access and parking restrictions.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works, which are expected to last approximately 2 weeks.

Ruaridh MacGregor, Scottish Water Regional community manager, said: “Scottish Water updated customers in Inverkeithing earlier this year when the initial work had to be postponed, and indicated we would be returning to complete the project.

"During this essential work there will be no impact on water or waste services but Scottish Water apologises for any inconvenience during the two week road closure necessary to carry out the project. We want to thank customers and locals for their patience.”
