POLICE are looking for an elderly woman after members of the public saw her being approached by a man on Fraser Avenue in Inverkeithing yesterday morning.
Concerned bystanders contacted the police at around 9.45am, but when they arrived neither the woman nor the male were in the area and officers are now trying to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.
The male is described as white, around 30-years-old, 5ft 8ins tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark blue tammy hat with green trim, a dark jacket and dark trousers.
Inspector Ian Flynn said, "At this time we are trying to determine whether there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding this matter, or whether it was an entirely innocent exchange between the pair.
"As such, I would ask anyone who was in Fraser Avenue on Tuesday morning and remembers seeing either of these individuals to come forward.
"In addition, I would also urge the woman, who was walking her white Highland Terrier at the time, to get in touch and let us know she's safe and well.
"Similarly, anyone with any further information relevant to this incident is also asked to contact us."
