BLIND Inverkeithing singer David Ross is celebrating after releasing his debut CD.

David (37), who makes regular performances at Dunfermline Folk Club, recorded his album, Frustrated Blue, near Stonehaven at XBOW Ltd studios.

Blind from birth, David attended The Royal Blind School in Edinburgh and loved singing from a young age.

David has a number of day jobs. He works at Fife Society for the Blind delivering courses for the visually impaired and also does transcription.

Speaking to Press:ON about his album, David said, “Someone must have thought I was good at singing because I was often the lead singing part in the school concert and I suppose that is where it started!

“I could play the recorder not very well and the piano also not very well but I always loved singing.

“I then went to the Dunfermline Folk Club a couple of years ago and my love for the music grew.

“Making a studio album has been an interesting and most enjoyable experience and I have learned a lot.

“Before I went into the studio, most of my singing had been unaccompanied. It’s a totally different experience actually being recorded and singing in to a microphone. Every note you sing and every breath you take is picked up.

“My music is contemporary folk and more modern than traditional folk styles.

“The CD costs £8, £1 of which will be donated to Fife Society for the Blind.

“Music has helped me a lot but without them there would be no music.” If you would like to buy David’s CD, visit www.xbowltd.net.
