RESIDENTS of Fraser Avenue in Inverkeithing will get the chance to have their say on Fife Council's regeneration plans for the street next week.

Masterplanners 7N Architects will be hosting a masterplan workshop on Thursday 5th February from 4-8pm at the assembly hall of Inverkeithing High School.

The workshop will provide the chance to have an input into future plans to revitalise the street, and all tenants and residents are urged to attend.

Crèche facilities will be available between 6-8pm for children aged two to 10.

Fraser Avenue is in the top 15 per cent of the most deprived areas of the country, according to the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation.

Its demolition and full redevelopment is supported by councillors, residents and tenants alike, and in August 2013, Fife Council's executive committee agreed that a master plan be drawn up and a regeneration brief be prepared.

A second workshop will be held on Wednesday 25th March, and details will be provided nearer the time.

Councillor Judy Hamilton, executive spokesperson for housing and building services, said, “It's important that we keep residents up to date, as well as get their views on matters and decisions that will affect the management of the street.

“So, if you're a tenant or resident of Fraser Avenue or live in the surrounding area, I would encourage you to come along and take part in reshaping these plans.

“A tremendous amount of work has already been carried out in Fraser Avenue and these consultation events will bring us a step closer to finalising plans for the redevelopment of south-east Inverkeithing.” To book a place at the crèche, call Thomas Murphy on 03451 555555 ext 442509 or email thomas.murphy@fife.gov.uk.
