INVERKEITHING residents – here’s your chance to get involved in what your town has to offer!

Local community groups will be at Inverkeithing Civic Centre between 10am and 4pm on Saturday in an open day organised by Take a Pride in Inverkeithing (TAPII).

The event is being held to raise awareness of local organisations, and those taking part include the church, community council, credit union, food bank, Scouts, Brownies and Inverflora.

TAPII chair Myrna Venters said, “We want to make people in Inverkeithing aware of what’s going on in the town.

“It’s about letting them know what they can get involved in – many groups need volunteers as well.

“There will be more than 20 groups with everything from the church to the arts initiative.

“It’s to bring families and people together in Inverkeithing and there will be a craft table for the kids.

“It will be a good day out – there’s so much going on in and around Inverkeithing and you might find something you didn’t know about!

“We’re inviting people to come along and talk to members of various groups with a view of getting involved or volunteering with something new.

“It’s also an opportunity to have your say on how to improve the overall appearance of the town centre as well.”
