A TEA dance, arts and craft fair and lunch will be laid on as part of a bloomin' marvellous two-day Inverkeithing community event this weekend.

Inverkeithing Arts Initiative, supported by Celebrating Fife, are organising the 'Bloomin' Marvellous Inverkeithing' to be held tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday at locations in the heart of the ancient royal burgh.

The event will showcase the variety of home-grown talent living and working in south-west Fife, and will include local musicians, food activists and artists, both professionals and hobbyists.

The fun kicks off at 7.30pm tomorrow with 'Swing Into Summer', a tea dance and evening of music and dancing at the Masonic Hall.

Come along and enjoy a jazzy night on the town with Benita and Her Jazzmen (pic), as well as tea, coffee and cakes. The Masonic Hall Bar will also be open.

Tickets cost £8 and are available from the Millbrae Cafe in High Street, or reserved at www.inverkeithingarts.org. Group tickets available at four for the price of three. Ages 18 and over only.

On Saturday, 'Spring Into Summer' at the arts and craft fair at Inverkeithing Civic Centre, where there will be textiles, clothing, jewellery, painting and ceramics on offer from 11am-5pm.

Participating artists include Annsdoodles, Black Rock Textiles, Hunter Aromatherapy, Earthen Images, Lainy Allison, Tom Bishop-de-Main, Filo di Lana, My Cherry Pie, Seacycle, Tartan Hearts, the Inverkeithing Sewing Group, Karen Trotter, Tubular, Serenity, Blue-bell Design, Darren McWilliam and Jenny Stewart.

Also on the programme are children's creative activities, led by local artist volunteers; a 'Wee Beastie Hunt' around the fair; and the Bloomin' Marvellous Art Raffle, featuring pieces donated by artists and crafters.

The Inverkeithing Community Food Group will be serving up a delicious home-made lunch at 12.30pm in the Friary – pay what you please, or come and volunteer for a free meal! For details, log on to www.facebook.com/InverkeithingFood.
