Police confirmed that they traced two teenage boys who were responsible for the attack on the police van on the same evening.
The 14-year-old and 15-year-old put the vehicle out of action on Main Street at 5pm.
Officers also keen to trace those responsible for throwing stones at the red Skoda in Rosyth what was carrying a child at the time of the incident.
Residents have called for action to curb such anti-social behavior.
