A ROSYTH boy received a very special Confirmation after missing the opportunity to take the sacrament along with his classmates.
Illness prevented Mateusz Stukan, 9, from attending in June but after a special invite from Archbishop Leo Cushley to his home in Edinburgh, the St John’s Primary pupil had his very own ceremony.
Proud mum Marta said: “This is a special moment in Mateusz’s life, to receive these gifts from God and to do it here makes us even more happy.”
He was also accompanied to the Archbishop’s residence by little brother Boguslaw and grandparents Marek and Anna.
Parish priest, Father Kevin Dow, of St Peter in Chains, Inverkeithing, said: “I’m happy for the family that Mateusz has been confirmed. He’s also recently made his First Holy Communion and has started serving on the altar. He’s a lovely lad.”
Mateusz chose St Hubertus, the 8th century bishop of Liège, as his patron saint “because he is the patron saint of mathematics. I like mathematics!”
