A ROSYTH man ignored a court order banning him from contacting his girlfriend and within a week went with her to a hotel.

Jamie Ashmore was warned if there was any repeat he would be spending Christmas behind bars.

Ashmore, 20, of Laurel Road, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that he breached bail conditions imposed at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on December 4 not to approach or contact his partner by repeatedly approaching and contacting her on December 10 at an address in Rosyth, as well as Bridge Street, Dunfermline and elsewhere.

Defence solicitor Ian Beatson said: “The complainer contacted him and they had arranged to meet up.

Sheriff James MacDonald responded: “That’s all very well but he was on a court order granted on 4th December.”

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said: “The complainer had booked a room in a local hotel. He was collected by her and a friend.”

Mr Beatson added: “He’s a disc jockey at local clubs. He appreciates he shouldn’t have responded to her contacting him.”

Sheriff McDonald told Ashmore: “I really don’t care about the relationship you have but what I do care about very much is people who don’t comply with court orders.

“The court considers this matter to be a serious one. I’m only just persuaded to allow you bail but if there’s any more of this you’ll be spending the festive season in custody.”

Ashmore will return to court for sentencing on January 24.
