A WEST FIFE nursery playground was used as toilet by intruders over the weekend.

Police are appealing for help to catch the mindless offenders who defecated in the nursery play area of Camdean Primary in Rosyth.

A post on South West Fife Police's Twitter feed described the incident as "disgusting" and called for anyone with any information to contact them on 101 quoting reference PS-20180514-1279.

Rosalind Frame, Camdean Primary School headteacher said: “It’s so upsetting that our school has been the target of anti-social behaviour again yet again.

"I find it astonishing that people can have so little thought and respect for the health and wellbeing of some of the youngest children in our community.

“If anyone has information, please contact Police Scotland so we can stop this happening again.”

The incident comes after play equipment was wrecked and the garden was left in a mess during the Easter holidays when Camdean was again targeted by vandals.

The school then shared its devastation on their Facebook page and said pupils, parents and the local community had worked to create a new garden for the nursery, which opened last year.

In the February half-term break, vandals also started off bin fires with the school suffering similar attacks on many occasions over the last few years.

Rosyth Community Council chairperson Danny Hughes was disappointed to hear of yet another incident.

"We have spoken to our local police about incidents at Camdean and they are trying to keep a close eye on it," he said.

"All the CCTV works around there so I am sure the police are on top of it."
