A NEW timelapse video has been produced capturing the moment the UK's largest aircraft carrier floated out of Rosyth for the first time.
The 65,000 tonne ship was manoeuvred out of the dockyard on Thursday 17th July and berthed alongside a jetty nearby after a three-hour operation.
The float out came 13 days after the vessel was officially named by Her Majesty the Queen during a spectacular ceremony, and teams will continue to outfit the ship in preparation for sea trials in two years time.
Jon Pearson, Queen Elizabeth director at the Aircraft Carrier Alliance, said, "This is a vessel of unprecedented scale so floating her for the first time is a fantastic feat of engineering. The teams across the alliance are incredibly proud to have successfully reached this major milestone in the delivery of HMS Queen Elizabeth."
