THE ROSYTH pensioner who was refused a blue badge by Fife Council despite having no lower legs will have to wait to know if he will receive a badge after an assessment this week.
Tom Hannah (73), of Carson Place, had two separate amputations last year due to a circulation problem caused by an irregular heartbeat.
But he was refused a blue badge because he can walk over a distance of 20 yards – with crutches and help.
The amputee OAP has been asked by Fife Council for an assessment – results of which will determine if he will be allowed the disability parking badge or not.
Tom received national newspaper and TV coverage after his story first appeared in the Press.
Mr Hannah will complete an assessment today (Tuesday).
