COMMUNITY cops say they are monitoring concerns made by residents over the meeting of car enthusiasts at Rosyth Dockyard.

A number of homeowners living close to the naval facility took to social media to criticise noise being created by “youngsters involved in meetings regarding their high-performance cars” during the evening.

But while Rosyth community officer Iain Moffat said that they had been “made aware” of the meetings, they had reported no problems.

The issue provoked a large debate on the ‘What’s Happening Rosyth?’ Facebook page, with user Phil Mason commenting, “I live just across the road and it is a problem, the noise is horrendous”, while Sarah Lukas suggested, “It seems to be the driving about the streets at 9.30-10pm that’s causing the most problems because they are doing it for hours so not at the actual meet.” PC Moffat said, “We have been made aware of this by one resident and we are carrying out extra patrols in the area.

"We would ask members of the public that if they have any concerns then they should come along to our next community engagement meeting on 3rd March in the Parkgate Centre at 7.15pm, but we will monitor the situation.” Rosyth Community Council chair Stephen Lynas added, “This is not something that has been raised with us but what we would say is that if people are disturbed by it then they should report it to the police.”
