ROSYTH is gearing up for the launch of its first ever community market this weekend.
The community council is organising the mixed market in the Parkgate Centre this Sunday and will feature 24 different stalls, from arts and crafts to tasty treats.
The idea first came about from the popular Facebook page, What’s Happening Rosyth, where the people of the town said that they would like to have a mixed monthly market after the page posted a suggestion about the possibility of having one in the town.
Work on the project first got under way after the new community council was elected in December and they decided that the idea would be a great way to try to bring civic pride and a sense of community to Rosyth, as well as promoting local producers.
After a lot of hard work by the community council and its treasurer Sharon Wilson, the market is now set to take place this weekend.
To pop along and see what the Rosyth Community Market is all about, visit the Parkgate Centre between 11am-3pm this Sunday. Parking can be found at the rear of the centre.
